New paper on gold-MnO2 catalysts for glycerol electrooxidation

Congratulations to Diandree Padayachee on her new paper in Electrochimica Acta. Diandree investigated the effect of adding MnO2 to a carbon-supported gold catalyst for glycerol electrooxidation. A key finding was that pre-depositing MnO2 on the carbon support stabilises the gold nanoparticles during deposition, producing smaller and more uniform particles. Catalysts with 5–9 wt% MnO2 gave the highest mass activities for glycerol oxidation. Great work!
