Congratulations to Tobias Baldhoff on his paper in the Journal of The Electrochemical Society. Tobias demonstrated through-mask electrochemical micromachining of aluminium in phosphoric acid, where micro-channels are formed via mass-transfer-limited anodic dissolution through photoresist masks. The paper discusses how applied potential, cumulative charge, and hydrodynamic conditions influence the shape evolution of the machined features, and compares the results to a diffusion-controlled shape evolution model. A nice step forward for electrochemical microfabrication. Well done Tobias!
