Electrode orientation and carbon felt heterogeneity matters!

Congratulations to Sophie McArdle on her paper in the Journal of Power Sources. Building on her earlier single-fibre electrode work, Sophie has shown that the orientation of carbon felt electrodes in a flow battery cell — and the inherent heterogeneity of the felt itself — can have a measurable effect on battery performance. The results have practical implications for how carbon felt electrodes are assembled and tested in redox flow battery research. Great work Sophie!
