Coal-derived carbon foam electrodes for vanadium flow batteries
Publication
Congratulations to Sophie McArdle on her paper in the Journal of The Electrochemical Society exploring coal-derived carbon foam as a low-cost electrode material for vanadium redox flow batteries. The study demonstrates that coal-derived foams can deliver competitive electrochemical performance, offering a potentially scalable route to affordable electrode materials for grid-scale energy storage. A great collaborative effort with Quang Anh Dang and Daniel Holland. Well done Sophie!
