Congratulations to Laura Titheridge on her paper in ACS Electrochemistry investigating how cathode ionomer choice and content affect the performance of anion exchange membrane (AEM) water electrolysers. The study compared Sustainion, PiperION, and Nafion ionomers at a range of loadings, finding that Nafion at 20 wt% produced the most homogeneous catalyst layers and lowest overpotential. A collaborative effort with Christina Roth’s group at Universität Bayreuth. Well done Laura!
